Addressing challenges of developing and using e-content in our Universities

It is not going to be easy to develop and use e-content in our Universities for many reasons that range from Infrastructural to administrative and policy issues. However steps need to be taken to minimise these challenges;

1. Commitment from ourselves the teachers that despite the problems, we should keep doing the little we can whenever we can to push for e-content development and use. We should be the champions.

2. Encourage our students to as much as possible be computer literate beyond simple e-mailing and googling for literature. If we as teachers begin posting material and assignments on the web, students will certainly be forces to comply.

3. We need to continue advocating for improving computer related infrastructure in our Institutions so that access becomes easier.

4. Encourage policy changes within institutions to recognise teachers who try their best to improve teaching methods. Incentives towards e-compliant lectures will promote usage excellence

Commitment for populating the ODL

I promise to do as much as possible to have my course material (DAG 1102) put into the ODL by the end of the week.
